Supporting the Community

It was a busy Fall season for the Woodbridge team as they embarked on several volunteer initiatives.

Greater Vancouver Food Bank

Woodbridge team members volunteered at the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, assisting with stocking and sorting shelves and distributing food to clients. While there, the team learned about why food banks are so vital to our community, who benefits from the service and the optimal way to support the Greater Vancouver Food Bank in their efforts, which includes volunteering time as well as donating funds.

Support to Ukrainian Families/Operation First Christmas

School supplies and winter clothing were packaged and donated to displaced families from Ukraine. Woodbridge has supported several families from Ukraine while they get established in Canada by providing housing. In addition, the team purchased, wrapped and donated Christmas gifts for distribution by the Maple Hope Foundation, a non-governmental organization committed to helping people suffering from the war in Ukraine. The hope is that families who are now living in Greater Vancouver will experience a memorable first Christmas in their new homes, as the holiday season can be an especially difficult time for those who are separated from friends and family.

Woodbridge Foundation – Pancake Breakfast

Under the Woodbridge Foundation umbrella, team members prepared and served a pancake breakfast to appreciative students and teachers at Norgate School in North Vancouver. Norgate is one of seven schools in Greater Vancouver that receives support from the Woodbridge Foundation to assist students and families facing food insecurity.

We look forward to more opportunities to show our appreciation to the communities in which we have a presence leading up to the holidays and into 2023!
